A downloadable project

"Ferdinand" is a character-driven 3D project, inspired by the classic tale of Ferdinand the Bull. This piece explores the contrast between outward strength and inner gentleness, presenting a visually powerful creature with a surprisingly tender soul.

The project allowed me to dive into creature design and learn how to exaggerate human anatomy in a way that still feels grounded and believable. I aimed to capture a sense of innocence and emotional depth through the character's posture, expression, and interaction with a single delicate flower, a symbol of his peaceful nature. Despite his muscular frame and intimidating presence, Ferdinand’s soft gaze and careful handling of the flower tell a story of restraint, introspection, and a quiet love for beauty. His name is a direct homage to Ferdinand the Bull, who famously preferred smelling flowers over fighting, and like his namesake, this character challenges assumptions about strength and sensitivity. Through subtle details such as scarred skin, natural adornments, and a contemplative pose, I wanted to convey a narrative that could be understood visually, without words or motion.

Ferdinand is also fully optimized as a game-ready character, built with clean topology, UV-mapped, and ready for rigging and animation, making him suitable for real-time rendering in modern game engines.

This project was ultimately a study in contrast—an exploration of how storytelling can emerge from the harmony between form, symbolism, and emotion.
